RRC Race Directors have always been volunteers. This model has served the club well for over 50 years. In recent years it has become more difficult to find volunteers for all club activities including RRC Race Directors. With the recent resignations of three long term race directors race succession was a concern. Volunteer race directors are aging out or stepping down and the volunteer model is just too hard to maintain in today’s environment.
Benefits of a paid RRC Race Director Employee
A paid RRC Race Director assures succession and growth of RRC Races and will establish a standard for all RRC Race Events. This is an investment in the future of the Rochester Running Club race events.
