Running mantra: Take it day by day. It’s always better to get out and just do a jog around the block than not getting out at all.
How running has changed me:
Running is a constant reminder to me that endurance is the most important skill in life. Much more important than talent or luck.
Why I joined RRC:
I was looking to get involved with the local running scene. I am still looking to get a tad more involved… 😉
Why I run:
I run to get faster and to achieve my personal goals. I run to unwind and regenerate. I run to get to know new places and new people.
When I run:
I just try to get a run in whenever possible. Unfortunately, there are days when it is not feasible at all. Apart from that, I run at 5 am or 11 pm. But I most enjoy my afternoon runs in the summer.
Where I run:
I try to start every run at my doorstep so I don’t have to use the car. That’s the most time-efficient way to fit in training. Back home I preferred hilly routes in the woods. Here in Rochester, I like the trail system. I really enjoyed the Chester Woods Mason run. That one felt a bit like running in Germany.
When I run, my must have:
I am pretty basic when it comes to running. In the best case, it’s just shorts, socks and shoes. That is one of the things I really like about running: You don’t need a lot of equipment.
My running goal:
My running goal for 2021: A new Marathon personal best. I already signed up for the Berlin Marathon. Hope it takes place this year. Ran a 2:27 there in 2019 and it would be nice to be a little faster this year.
