Sandra Dalquist

Age: 80

Job: Part-time secretary

Hometown:  Rochester

Running mantra: Keep moving

How running has changed me:

I am always looking ahead to find time to run. I have always packed running gear when we are on vacation just in case I find time to go out for a short run. I have met so many runners from all over the state who I would have never known. And I learned to drive all over the cities without getting lost!!

Why I joined RRC:

It’s been a long time since I joined, but I wanted to meet other runners. They use to send out a letter and along with it information about other runs in the area and forms to send in. That was before computers!

Why I run:

I run to keep in shape and just to get out on the trails around town. If I have some races coming up I need to get some miles in.

When I run:

I usually run in the evening which seems to work best for me. How far I run depends on how I feel and how much time I have before dark.

Where I run:

I run on 18th Ave. NW and always end up down along the river on West River Parkway. There the birds sing, the deer like to eat and the woods are full of wildflowers.

When I run, my must have:

Garmin watch and Nike shoes.

My running goal:

To keep running as long as possible.
